ABSENT:
I will be absent on March 1st, please see the calendar above for due date changes and then follow the plan that follows:
1. click on this link:
https://secure-media.collegeboard.org/digitalServices/pdf/ap/ap-world-history-course-and-exam-description.pdf

2. Read Page 172 about what a Document Based Question is (page 165 in the actual book)

3. In partners, read page 173 about how the document will be scored and take 5-10 minutes to talk about how this rubric is different than the rubric for the Long Question. How is it similar?

4. Read the question on Page 175. WITHOUT looking at the documents, try to identify two similarities and two differences with your partner in the industrialization of Russia and Japan (think parts PERSIAN). Begin to answer the question that starts on Page 175. When you think about answering the question, relate the question to parts PERSIAN. For example, if the question asks you to compare and contrast industrialization then consider if their industrialization was similar politically or in its impact socially. Look at each document with your partner and think about how it might help you answer the question. Compare the documents to each other, and see if you can group them, i.e. Documents 1 and 2 both show that the government supported protectionist measures in its industrialization (just an example, don't use) OR Documents 1 and 2 contradict each other in that document 2....Also consider the rubric as it relates to the document-don't forget to consider the sourcing-how does the fact the Sergei Vitte wrote the document affect what it says? What else is happening in the world at that time. TAKE 15-20 MINUTES to look at the documents and plan your answer.

5. Read Pages 179-181 about what a good response will look like. Take 40-60 minutes to write up a response, with the rubric in mind, in a 5-6 paragraph essay.

Bring the essay prep and the rough draft with you on Friday. If I am absent Friday, bring it Monday. You may type your rough draft as long as it is printed.
